Daniel J. Guida

Daniel J. Guida, a Weir High graduate of 1980, received a bachelor’s of science (BS) degree in 1984 from the Franciscan University of Steubenville (summa cum laude), and his law degree in 1987 from the West Virginia University College of Law.  He is licensed to practice in West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Ohio (Practice Pending Admission). He and his wife Laura have two children.
               
Mr. Guida was the Municipal Court Judge for the City of Weirton from July 1995 to July 2003. Mr. Guida has been counsel for the Weirton Area Water Board and the Weirton Sanitary Board since 2003. In 2005, Mr. Guida was appointed to serve as a member of the three-member West Virginia Probable Cause Review Board by then-West Virginia Governor Joe Manchin. The Board hears ethics complaints against all full- and part-time elected and appointed public officials and public employees who serve in the legislative, judicial and executive branches of state, county and municipal governments and their respective boards, commissions and agencies. Mr. Guida continues to serve on this Review Board to this day. 

Mr. Guida has vast experience in commercial transactions that include the sale and purchase of businesses and real estate, creation, dissolution and merging of business entities, corporate reorganizations, real estate transactions, and title examinations. Mr. Guida has been involved in many multi-million real estate and business transactions during the course of his career. He is a licensed title insurance agent in the States of West Virginia and Ohio.

William J. Blakemore (Of Counsel)


William J. Blakemore, born and raised in Weirton, WV, graduated from Weir High School in 1999.  He received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in May of 2003 (magna cum laude) from West Virginia University prior to enrolling in law school.  Mr. Blakemore received his law degree from the West Virginia College of Law in 2007.  He is licensed to practice in West Virginia, Pennsylvania and North Carolina.  He and his wife, Susan, have three children.

Mr. Blakemore is experienced in a wide range of legal matters, including personal injury, product liability, medical malpractice, pharmaceutical and other complex civil litigation matters.  Mr. Blakemore also has extensive experience in oil and gas matters, including title analysis as well as litigation arising from royalty disputes, water/land contamination, title issues, exploration, development and production obligations and a variety of other leasing disputes. 

Over the course of his career, Mr. Blakemore has litigated matters on behalf of individuals and corporations in both the plaintiff and defense setting, giving him unique insight and perspective in his cases.

John A. Plesa

John A. Plesa, born and raised in Weirton, WV, graduated from Madonna High School in 1993.  He received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Criminal Justice from Wheeling University (1997) and his law degree from the University of Dayton College of Law in 2000, although he is not licensed to practice law. John has been a legal assistant for Guida Law Offices for over 15 years. Mr. Plesa was the Director for West Virginia Northern Community College’s Paralegal Program for six years (2008-2013). Mr. Plesa has been the Chairman for the Hancock County Board of Health since June 2018, and is the author of “Shadows of the Night: The Awakening (2nd Edition)”. John has one son.
